Today I found the two best things. Let’s peep Best Thing #1 first:

This Kitchen Science Measuring Cup gives you regular measurements (which is helpful when cooking, but sorta boring), but you also get to see cool and useful information related to the volume of stuff you just poured into the aforementioned measuring cup (above). For example, one and a half cups of whatever you’re cooking with equals one hundred pieces of penne regate pasta!

And now, check out Best Thing #2:

This isn’t a dust collector that sits on the shelf at your mom’s house. This is, in fact, probably the best game ever invented and I want it. It’s called the Babushkas Bourres Drinking Game and this is how you play:

1. Spin the top, which is marked with images corresponding to the 3 (different sized) Babushka dolls.
2. Once the top stops spinning, locate the Babushka doll that corresponds to the image the dreidel landed on (it’s all color/size coordinated. So good).
3. Pour a shot into the corresponding Babushka doll, which is actually a shot glass. . .Surprise!!
4. Take the shot.
5. Pass the top to your left. Or right. Whatever.

(Best Things #1 and #2 both make fun gifts for your pals, but I hope you cop atleast one Best Thing for yourself too!)

I’m keeping it classy with My End-of-July Finds. Everything that is appealing to me today has a vintage-chic, rose-colored feel to it (or has rhinestones on it, duh). I’ve found my new favorite online store. It’s actually more of a print/design company that happens to sell shirts with some of their designs on them. Most fashion-focused blogs provide readers with up-to-the-minute feedback on the newest, hottest designs of Marc, Issac, Jimmy, Zac, Oscar, and other admired masterminds. While I do attempt to keep myself clued-in to the newest fashion highlights and places to find hot designer garments online, I simply cannot afford to take my sweaty morning walk to work in a $500 Anna Sui silk print sundress.

When I was 14, I battled the elements walking with the rest of my grammar school cheerleading squad in the rainy San Francisco St. Patrick’s Day parade in a hooded green garbage bag-esque “raincoat.” Not cute. From that experience, I learned that rain and Aqua Net hairspray do not mix.

I’ve since made up for the lack of merriment I had that St. Paddy’s Day by dressing in green, applying temporary “Kiss Me, I’m Irish” tattoos, and hanging out with friends in the annual celebration of all things Irish. (Last year, we scored our temp tattoos from a trio of green-bearded “little people” walking down the streets of San Francisco’s Little Italy. Talk about gold!) In my Kiss Me, I’m Irish! It’s a fact that drinking coffee out of a cute mug adds merriment to your life. Each morning I have my coffee in a red mug. . . That’s it. A plain, red mug. A mug that is plain. And red.

Boo. Morning is tough enough as it is.

Why would you want to wake up to a cup of coffee served in a blah mug when you can guzzle your caffeine from a mug that makes you laugh hysterically?
