The 2 Best Things

Today I found the two best things. Let’s peep Best Thing #1 first:

This Kitchen Science Measuring Cup gives you regular measurements (which is helpful when cooking, but sorta boring), but you also get to see cool and useful information related to the volume of stuff you just poured into the aforementioned measuring cup (above). For example, one and a half cups of whatever you’re cooking with equals one hundred pieces of penne regate pasta!

And now, check out Best Thing #2:

This isn’t a dust collector that sits on the shelf at your mom’s house. This is, in fact, probably the best game ever invented and I want it. It’s called the Babushkas Bourres Drinking Game and this is how you play:

1. Spin the top, which is marked with images corresponding to the 3 (different sized) Babushka dolls.
2. Once the top stops spinning, locate the Babushka doll that corresponds to the image the dreidel landed on (it’s all color/size coordinated. So good).
3. Pour a shot into the corresponding Babushka doll, which is actually a shot glass. . .Surprise!!
4. Take the shot.
5. Pass the top to your left. Or right. Whatever.

(Best Things #1 and #2 both make fun gifts for your pals, but I hope you cop atleast one Best Thing for yourself too!)

Everyone Likes Flowers.

When was the last time you sent someone a surprise bouquet of flowers? How about the last time you received one? “Sending someone flowers” is written off by many these days as cliche’ and unoriginal. Steer clear of a dozen long stems and you’re golden! Studio Choo delivers some of the Cutest Floral Arrangements I’ve Ever Seen! If you’re not in the mood to shell out for the real thing, or if you want to give the gift of an everlasting bloom, consider giving Paper Flowers (Super-chic. Don’t laugh). And if you’re in the crafty mood, bust out a Paper Flower How-To Book and make a romantic personalized bouquet for your loved one.

Update Your Fave LBD for a Night on the Town!

This weekend I found that one only needs two things to spice up her reliable old pal (a.k.a. the LBD). Maybe throw on some hoops and a ring for an extra special occasion ;) Check out Clutch and Pumps on Kazowie to see some sexy shoes and their matching clutch counterparts.

Coraline’s Here!

Woo hoo! Creepy kids’ movie, “Coraline” is finally on DVD and I’m totes excited! I’m actually curious to see if I’ll enjoy the flick half as much on a little screen. I’m sure I will. The super-cool DVD on my Coraline DVD Release and All Things Coraline guide includes the 3-D version of the movie, so that should add to my enjoyment immensely. Don’t worry, I’ve included the 3-D glasses for purchase as well.

Dig the Coraline Dunks! With the cat and mouse tails!

Visit coraline.com for your chance to win this pair!

The Bobble Detail Scarf is pumping me up!

The little bobble details on this scarf are reminiscent of grapes and this accessory is just as scrumptious. Try the neckwear in Bubblegum Pink, Oatmeal, or Lime (among other colors. V. Becks Does it Again

I love the way Posh dresses. Granted, she goes a little overboard with the short-shorts and 4-inch heels for a walk with her family, but she always looks chic. You gotta love the attitude! I particularly love this outfit because she pairs her usual body-hugging top, oversized sunglasses, and sky-high shoes with a crisp, flowy-A line pleated Azzedine Alaia dress with sheer stripes. Copy her look for WAY less with the affordable pieces in the Victoria Beckham’s Classay Style buyer’s guide on Kazowie. Supes cute outfit for work and play!

Lunch Time Will Make Everyone Happy

“Lunch time will make everyone happy.” That’s what my new lunch bag reads. And it’s true isn’t it? I love it so much, I went on a mission to find similar bags for you to check out! These darling bags are made in Japan and with the cute images and sayings printed on them, you can’t help but to smile. See my personal lunch bag pick and more on my Cute Japanese Lunch Bags buyer’s guide.

While you’re at it, I highly recommend looking at the Cutest Stationary You’ll Ever See. Remember pens and paper? Skip the text message and write a note to your friend instead. And with fun sayings like, “Become lucky you,” you’re sure to brighten someone’s day!

Plaid Shirt Gets Update

Your fave cotton plaid shirt just became wearable again. When paired with the right outfit, a long-sleeve button down p-shirt can go from day. . . to night (believe it or not). My shopper’s mag suggested pairing the p-shirt with a pair of shorts and a white tank. I saw a girl rocking this look today on my way to the office and it works. I want a p-shirt now! Check out The Plaid Shirt for a way cute p-shirt to treat yourself to and some pieces to pair with it by day and night.

Summer Slow Down

July always seems like one of those months that starts off with a bang (no pun intended) and ends far too quickly. In the aftermath of the bright, patriotic colors of 4th of July celebrations, I`m seeing trends already moving into fall, with muted/neutral colors, pinks and greys, romantic ruffles and florals, tons of flats, boots, and oxfords, and lots of delicate jewelry, i.e. watch pendants and antique key necklaces. (See The Secret Garden shopper’s guide for this romantic look.)

Fashion is always several steps ahead, but my advice is to enjoy your sandals and sarongs while you can. Keep your eyes peeled for the hot fall finds, but don’t let the summer pass you by while you shop! See My July Finds for products that are catching my eye this month. New items will be added all the time, so keep checking back to scope the unique goodies I find.

Shown above (L-R): Christopher Kane Chimp jersey T-shirt, zipper hoops, whispy feather wallet, strapless smocked floral jumpsuit, TokyoMilk scented bubble bath.
